Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS) provides a wide range of services to support students’ academic and emotional well-being. Some of the services offered by MDCPS include:
Mental health services: MDCPS offers free screening for emotional problems, triaging to the appropriate treatment program, as well as providing direct clinical services, such as individual therapy and group therapy 12. They also have a mental health assistance allocation plan that employs school counselors, school social workers, school psychologists, and Trust Counselors that are assigned to schools to directly support student mental health services 2.
Magnet programs: MDCPS offers magnet programs that cater to students’ interests and talents. These programs provide students with specialized courses and opportunities to develop their skills in a particular field 3.
Parent and caregiver resources: MDCPS provides resources for parents and caregivers to help them support their children’s academic and emotional needs. These resources include a parent portal setup guide, a resiliency toolkit, and a guide and resources for student support 1.
Student support: MDCPS provides a variety of resources to support students’ academic success. These resources include TPA Live webinars to help students succeed, as well as guidance from passionate and hardworking teaching staff
